Raster Images
JPEG / GIF / PHOTOSHOP / BMP (BITMAP) and other image files
A raster image is a picture made up of lots of tiny dots or squares called pixels. Each pixel has its own color, and when you put them all together, they create the full image — kind of like a mosaic or a jigsaw puzzle.
The more pixels there are, the sharper and more detailed the image looks. That’s why photos from a good camera or phone often look clear, while zooming in on a small image can make it look blurry or blocky — because you start to see the individual pixels.
Common examples of raster images include photos you take on your phone or pictures you see online in formats like JPEG, PNG, or GIF.
VECTOR IMAGES
PDF / AI / Adobe Illustrator / EPS
A vector image is made from lines, shapes, and colors defined by math instead of tiny pixels. That means it can be resized as big or small as you want without ever getting blurry. It’s perfect for logos, icons, and illustrations, usually saved as PDF, AI, or EPS files.
Most professionally generated logos and print files are in Vector format - we prefer these whenever possible.
